Im dreaming of summer!

Well its February and we are already tired of winter. It is supposed to snow around 10 inches tonight and tomorrow. The horses don’t like this sort of weather, they spend most of their day and nights cooped up in the barn. Like me, they are just waiting until spring and warmer weather. I can’t wait until spring and I am able to start riding again. I have taken a few years off because of my educational demands, but I have dropped back from full time to part time until I finish my degree and I am getting anxious to start living my life again.

Recently I updated all of my computer equipment, and installed Photoshop CS4. It has taken a few days to get used to all the new capabilities this program has to offer over the previous version of Photoshop CS3 which was installed on my old computer. Everything is so much faster and I am able to better serve my photography clients with this new system.

Christmas is just around the corner and we are about to not only leave 2009 behind us but also the whole decade. Wow that time just seemed to slip by so fast it is hard to believe. So many things have happened in our society in the last decade - 9-11, War, two new Presidents, the first black President in history, American Idol, Michael Jackson, and the Yankees almost made it a whole decade without winning a world series—- just to name a few.

For me, it has been a time of personal reflection and educational growth. I went back to college to finish my degree, and then went on to Grad school. I married my dear friend and soul mate. Some of my closest Equine friends have gone on to that greener pasture in the sky, and I found my newest passion and developed it into a small business- that is photography.

Here’s to a bright and joyful Christmas and very happy new year!

My 12 year old nephew and I decided to spend a few moments on this warm fall day to enjoy the weather. He sat down for a few minutes and I took this picture of him. They grow up so fast we can never have enough images of how they were.

I’d like to introduce you to my little dog Wishbone. She is a Jack Russel Terrier (They call her a Shortie- because she is a little short legged terrier). Honestly I think she is the most photogenic dog mostly because she stays still and poses for me. I have taken so many pictures of her I am amazed at how she doesn’t get tired of it. You may see her in a few of my photos with babies because she is also a very good baby dog.

Both my husband (Trent) and I love her dearly and we argue over who she loves the most. She is an important part of our lives.

Hello World,

My name is Lisa Gunderson and both my husband and I operate a portrait and wedding photography business together. I am generally behind the lens and he is generally behind the checkbook (poor guy), I have tossed around the idea of starting a blog for sometime, wondering if there is enough interesting stuff about me to write about and so on.

The truth is I dont know, but I will tell you a little bit about me for you to decide. I am a current graduate student at Northwestern College, Roseville MN. studying Organizational Leadership. One day I hope to have my dream job, but for now I will just keep on dreaming.

I like simple things, a simple life – filled with love and laughter. I enjoy warm lazy days with lots of time to explore my personal photographic interests. I like meeting new people and seeing new things. I love animals and babies and baby animals. I personally have a few horses, one little dog named Wishbone and a goofy little cat named Coondog.

When I photograph a wedding a tear always comes to my eyes during those special moments like the first kiss and I love the smell of the beautiful flowers at each wedding. I am amazed at how each beautiful bride becomes even more beautiful when they put that gorgeous gown on. It is their special day to shine and it shows on their beautiful face.

Photography for me is more than a business it is a creative outlet in which I can express my self to the world. While I photograph people and pets for the public I also like to just have my camera near by so I can take a picture of any little weird thing that catches my eye.

One day I was outside taking pictures of the spring flowers and I came upon a cute little dragon fly. I had a point and shoot camera, a Canon powershot pro1, with me. I quickly set it to super macro and took this picture. Even I was surprised at how nice it turned out.

I will try to make this into a photo blog more than a word blog so I dont bore people with my endless chatter,but I hope you enjoy and come back often to see whats new in my crazy little world.
